Designers use Lab 1 Rapid Prototyping prototypes prior to manufacturing to validate their designs prior to spending large amounts of money for tooling. Tooling is expensive and requires capital prior to manufacturing. If your design is not properly vetted, by having a prototype made, you may have to re-purchase new tooling. In order to take a design to manufacturing, be it CNC machining or injection molding you must purchase tooling. Since tooling can be very costly it pays to verify your designs.

If you have a part that needs to be converted into a CAD image whereby you can edit, incorporate the part into an CAD assembly, or reproduce a model of the part. Lab 1 can generate a point cloud or parametric CAD file.
